District Council of Mount Barker
Loftus maintains and manages servers and networks for the District Council of Mount Barker. This enables their in-house IT team to focus on other council tasks with confidence.
Loftus has developed a centralised, remotely-managed water management solution which has improved financial, environmental and resourcing issues for DCMB, by cutting down on site visits and travel time.
Water pumping stations are now managed remotely, enabling DCMB staff to simulate flood or drought conditions from afar.
The system has also helped to sustain native flora and fauna and conserve water as part of the award winning Laratinga Wetlands project. It has benefited the community by converting grey water into Class ‘A’ recycled water used for market gardening and watering parks and reserves such as the Callington football oval.
Some of the technologies used as a part of this project were:
- SCADA Industry Control System
- OpenGear 3G Routers
- Cisco Enterprise Network equipment
