David Bullock, Managing-Director of Loftus IT and Armin Huefner, Managing Director of Huefner Group of Companies, today announced that they have signed an agreement whereby Huefner Management Systems (HMS) will be acquired by Loftus IT to be effective from December 1st 2007. The new product entity will be known as Loftus HMS and will be supported by the application development team at Loftus IT.

Loftus IT, established in 1994, is an organisation that specialises in the delivery of expert Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Services to clients focussing on:

  • Application Development,
  • Infrastructure and Software Integration Services, and
  • Consulting and Help Desk Services to clients that:
    • may not have their own in-house resources,
    • that need to supplement their in-house resources for specific projects,
    • require short or long term technology support via tailored Service Level Agreements.

Huefner Management Systems (HMS) is a proven provider of Customer Service, Work Management and Asset Management solutions, primarily to local government organisations. Formed in 1971, the company's initial focus was to provide excellence in engineering consultancy services to the local government and private sector. In 1986 HMS introduced its first generation Asset Management System, followed in 1992 by the first version of The Customer Service System.

Both companies share similar management principles with an exemplary focus on customer service. This acquisition strengthens our applications development team, provides us with a vehicle to target specific organisations on the back of on-going revenue streams. At the same time it strengthens the development of the HMS portfolio making this .merger. a perfect fit for both Loftus IT and HMS.

The product suite formally known as Huefner Management Systems (HMS) will, from the 1st of December, be known as Loftus HMS. The Loftus brand will be merged with the HMS acronym and include the HMS logo to create a new logo and brand name for the product suite. This will ensure continuity of brand recognition to existing HMS clients whilst strengthening the Loftus brand.
