A lot of solutions can’t be found with “off the shelf” software so a lot of organisations contract 3rd parties to develop unique applications to solve a particular business need.


The current demand for our application support services comes from three primary Client needs:


- supporting Oracle Forms applications, an area of expertise that has been part of Loftus IT for over 10 years;


- supporting legacy software applications, often requiring skills that are hard to come by these days;


- supporting business application software that we've developed to meet the specific needs of a Client - we do this a lot as part of an end-to-end solution.


While the main need is to provide bug-fix and user support for operational applications, inevitably our team gets involved in designing and implementing enhancements as well.


In the case of legacy applications, we typically work with the Client to keep the application as 'modern' as possible and work with them to plan a transition to a contemporary application environment when the need arises.


Some of our application support people work permanently at Client sites, contributing skills to internally managed Client project teams. In other cases, the application support services are delivered under a 'Service Level' agreement, with Loftus IT committing to maintain an agreed set of skills that can be called on by the Client as required.


When a Client requires 24x7 applications Support, we utilise our on-call roster program and provide call handling infrastructure that lets the Client get through to a support team member at any hour of the day or night.
